Make a Great Decor in Offices with Blinds

By: Judith Persit

Office working facilities are commonly blase, dull and boring places. They do not appeal to people’s sense of style. Consider the proof that people go to extremes to decorate their workspaces with novelties. Often these cheap items are not god enough to be displayed at their homes, but the workspace is so boring that these can be used at work to decorate. But a simple decor scheme, using colorful fabric vertical blinds can often make a major and undervalued addition to the workplace, or any room at home if you prefer to decorate your homes. A better work space can lead to more productive workers. The major advantages of vertical blinds include their cost, their flexibility, their ability to fit almost any size window, and the fact that they can be ordered quite easily from a wide variety of materials and colors. High quality vertical blinds are made from a woven fabric based material – this helps with weight, and allows a certain amount of air through, helping to maintain the vertical slats reasonably still even with the window open and a breeze blowing.

There is another advantage to vertical blinds – allowing plenty of fresh air into the room while at the same time reducing the amount of bright sunlight which may make working, concentrating or looking at a computer monitor unbearable. These are all not simply important factors when designing the office space, but essential from the point of view of health and safety and the policies which will undoubtedly govern any work space. But in addition to the simply practical advantages of vertical blinds, they offer enormous flexibility and freedom of choice when it comes down to choosing color and style.

Office decorators and designers can select from a wide variety of “color ways”, styles and fashions. The result is that coordinating with any design theme selected for use in the workspace is a basic and simple task. Vertical blinds in the correct colors can help establish a corporate identity- as shown through a unique interior styling. This participates in helping to liven up the public image and emphasizing the nature of the business, its identity and known style for all to see in the office decor. Through careful and well thought plans and designs, the style of vertical blinds chosen can have a significant affect the atmosphere created within a room. As the bright sun filters into the offices through the colored fabric blinds vane material, an “easy on the eyes” environment, a warm or cool atmosphere, shall be made to pervade the whole room.

For example, green vertical blinds can create a natural, lush feeling, excellent for positive, well balanced minds, whereas a rich red can create a warm, vibrant and energetic atmosphere. Blues help to engender a feeling of coolness and calm, whereas lighter creams and whites help to filter the sun's own light, taking away the glare and reflections while still providing a natural illumination. Although vertical blinds are most popular in offices, shops and other workspaces, they are by no means exclusive to these environments, and many people choose vertical blinds as part of their home décor, helping in exactly the same way to cut out the heat and glare of sun while at the same time providing an economic, stylish and flexible solution within rooms such as studies, conservatories and patio or French windows. In exactly the same way as in the workplace, careful choice and selection of colors and styles can help to compliment the styles and themes within the room, and at the same time, helping to filter the daylight to create a subtly colored atmosphere across the living space, promoting well-being and positive feelings.

Guests coming in to your home will at once feel that they are entering a vibrant, energetic living space, a calm and subdued place of tranquillity, or a lush and natural home that is in touch with its outdoor surroundings. There is no reason why the installation of vertical blinds can not help to connect the outside with the inside. Where a room opens onto a garden or patio, through the use of patio or French doors or a balcony perhaps, vertical blinds can help to link the two spaces and create a feeling of much wider spaces and larger rooms.

When planning out the home or office design or color scheme, consider your objectives. Then, look at what is there to match with the colors. For example, a room with several lush green plants, perhaps with a terrace with additional plants, a designer may wish to interconnect the spaces and thereby connect one living space with the other, creating a sense of planned harmony and flow within the home. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised when he sees your coordinated stunned with your design skills, all from the vertical blinds coordinating with the greening that you have with the foliage.

The other advantage of using vertical blinds in these passages is that they can be slid to one side so conveniently, providing both easy access, quick privacy and shade. This design advantage, where an office decorator trying to make a beautiful office can use fabric blinds as a basic inexpensive retractable door, has the futher benefit. Throw in the color, and you will create the fashionable design you want. Save on the plastic full room dividers, and allow a great decor styling by using vertical blinds.
